Key Performance Indicators
- Create and implement a scalable and effective data engineering platform
- Integrating data and information from various sources, organized, disorganized or unstructured into a central repository for data. The creation and evolution of data models, schemas, and repository systems to effectively manage and store data. This is accomplished by implementing well-designed, and regularly maintained ETL pipelines.
- Responsible for the thorough cataloguing of all assets in the data within Columbus (from the zone of accountability) not just to use for personal purposes however, but also to help data specialists in their analysis of the data available.
- Governance and data quality will be maintained and enforced through the design and implementing standards for data quality and the governance guidelines, which hold him/her accountable for the design and/or implementation of systems for data that improve reliability, scalability and quality.
- They will ensure security of data and compliance with privacy laws by implementing and developing the necessary procedures for security and access control. All the while, they will continuously improve the data repository’s query as well as processing speed, ensuring fast and efficient processing of data.
- Internally, the engineer is able to have direct interaction and interfaces directly with Production and Distribution departments (client oriented) and The Engineering department (Control and measuring interfaces that are both provider and client focused) as well as the department of Technology (process optimization, client-oriented), OPS Planning (scheduling aspects, client-oriented) and various IT teams (L2 L3, L3 and other teams, principal providers).
- Externally, the engineer will be in contact with suppliers of systems from outside as well as process/data technology consultants and software developers for application. Collaboration with external stakeholders such as suppliers or customers are frequent to connect external data systems in conjunction with Columbus Stainless systems
Qualification
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Data Science or any related field of study.
- A minimum of 2 years, up to six years of experience (years of experience will determine the appointment grade)
Relevant Skills
- At least 4 years of experience in Data modeling and integration (ETL) Architecture of the system design and Optimization of the system.
- A minimum of three years experience in software design and engineering knowledge.
- A minimum of 2 years of Project management experience.
