Accounting Lecturer Requirements

• A valid Masters Degree, and a registered application to receive an Doctoral Degree.
• A registration with a relevant professional accounting body
• CA(SA) with a specialization in Auditing, Taxation or Financial Accounting, Management Accounting
• At least 1 years’ experience in higher education or Qualification/courses in higher education teaching and learning
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level of Accounting as well as related fields of specialization in Taxation Auditing, Management Accounting and Financial Management
• Research publications, successful supervision or grant funding

Duties

• Participate in research and the development of curriculum, its design and application
• Learn undergrad (and postgraduate) courses for postgraduate and undergraduate students.
• Be able to meet the requirements for research publications at the academic rank of lecturer
• Direct students (Honours/Masters research)
• Secure research grants
• Engage in collaborations and networking in teaching and research
• Participate in mentorship programmes
• Participate in community engagement, integrating it with research or teaching
• Assist in the administration of the department
