Department Of Labour Vacancies Requirements
Senior Certificate plus three (3) years of recognized qualifications at NQF6/7 or higher in the relevant field ie. Electrical Engineering. Valid driver’s license. Knowledge: Departmental Policies and Procedures, South African National Standards Codes-incorporated Codes are regulations, Compensation for Injuries and Disabilities Act, Unemployment Insurance Law. Skills: Communication, computer literacy, facilitation, interpersonal skills. Conflict handling, negotiation, problem-solving, interviewing, and presentation skills. Analytical skills. Verbal and Written communication skills.
OHS Inspector Duties
Plan and conduct independent inspections to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993), Regulations, and incorporated Standards. Confirm registration with the Unemployment Insurance Act and Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. Plan, investigate, and independently finalize all incidents and complaints relating to the OHS Act and relevant regulations and enforce them when necessary. Appear in court as a state witness. Plan proactive inspections according to a schedule to monitor compliance with applicable labor legislation, including compiling reports from these inspections. Planned and implemented advocacy campaigns for all labor laws independently, analyzed the impact of these campaigns and consolidated and compiled reports. Contribute to the planning, writing, and maintenance of regional inspection reports and plans, including execution of analyses and compilation of statistical reports on assigned cases and regional cases.
