Administrator and Project Support Internship Description
The intern will work under the supervision of the Gender M&E analyst to support the GBVF Directorate with areas such as information management, administration, and stakeholder co-ordination in order to improve the Directorate’s efficiency and effectiveness.
The Intern will agree on a work plan with learning opportunities and achievements for the duration. The Intern will benefit from periodic progress meetings that enhance her/his abilities and skills in areas related UNFPA mandate.

You would be responsible for:
Information and Data Support
- Support the creation and updating of a central GBVF Information Repository.
- Gather and catalog relevant GBVF reports and resources from all partners, including civil society, the government and research organisations.
- Support the regular updating of key documents.
- Track data requests and use in coordination with your team
Stakeholder Database
- Support the design and maintain the spreadsheet for stakeholder engagement, which includes inputs like names, sectors and contact information, as well as contributions to the NSP GBVF.
- Assist with the verification and updating of database records quarterly.
Meetings and Event Planning
- Support the scheduling and engagement of stakeholders and implementation partners.
- Assist in preparing agendas for meetings, recording key discussions points, and circulating minute.
- Track follow-up actions to ensure timely updates on previous meetings.
- Support the GBVF Directorate with logistical support for workshops, consultations or dialogues.
Project tracking and scanning
- Search for GBVF Projects in South Africa to support the team.
- Attend virtual events and meetings, and capture important messages and useful information
- Share updates and monitor the progress of internal projects.

UNFPA Internship Qualifications
- Have completed a full academic year and be enrolled in your first degree programme at university (such as a bachelor’s or equivalent).
- Be enrolled in an advanced degree program (such as a master’s or higher);
- If you have recently graduated from university, as described above, and are selected for the internship, it must begin within a year of your graduation.
- Be enrolled in an internship programme for postgraduate trainees and complete the internship as a part of that programme
- Demonstrate an interest in development.
- Demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English (or at least one other working language of the United Nations)
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work in new environments, and to maintain and establish good working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds.
