About the Role
Wits is hiring for Lecturer or Senior Lecturer positions in Mathematics Education. The roles focus on teaching BEd and PGCE students and building the School’s academic strength. You’ll work with a team known for strong research and high-quality teaching.

Mathematics Lecturer Qualification
You need a PhD in Mathematics or Mathematics Education. For the Lecturer post, at least 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience is required. Senior Lecturers must have university-level teaching, a track record of research, and completed postgraduate student supervision.
Both roles need you to teach topics like: confidently
- Functions
- Geometry
- Statistics
- Calculus
- Mathematical Modelling
- Financial Maths
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate maths education courses
