Data Center Technician Internship Description

Key job responsibilities

You will be able to support our internal staff with regards to infrastructure, including resolving tickets relating to hardware (motherboard, RAM and CPU), networking (link down, optics replacements, switch replacements, etc.) as well as other tickets.
Interns will also learn to create documentation, find innovative solutions and fix complex problems in the data center.

Duties include

  • Hardware troubleshoot on servers that are not in live mode under the supervision of an AWS technician
  • Understand how important it is to meet SLAs for assigned trouble tickets
  • Follow AWS technicians’ instructions during network troubleshooting
  • Replace media (SSD/HDD), according to AWS Data Tech guidelines
  • Repair server hardware (drives and motherboards) regularly under the guidance of an experienced technician
  • Interacting with contractors and third-party vendors who are on site

Qualifications

  • Has completed IT certification or a technical/bachelors degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology or Computer Hardware Repair, or has graduated from these fields.
  • Communication skills both verbally and in writing must be demonstrated
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • It is a plus if you have some basic knowledge of Linux.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts is a plus
