Requirements
A valid Electrical Trade Test Certificate. Experience as an Artisan, or Artisan foreman. Valid driver’s licence (C1). Electrical installation, components, machines, systems, and equipment, as well as electrical analogies, are required.
Duties
Manage electrical equipment, workshop/building and technical services. Assure that all equipment is in a proper repair status to avoid any impact on productivity. Use preventative maintenance to identify and fix recurring faults. Analyze breakdowns to determine the cause and then apply the necessary skills. Recommend a different measure to remedy a particular breakdown. Analyze and compare all invoices and quotes related to electrical equipment maintenance, repair and service to ensure that departmental costs are being controlled. Verify that all repairs are within the budget. Make sure the daily schedule is monitored and followed. Monitor and manage the safekeeping of assets. Document and record all assets every quarter. All assets that are not in use should be recorded, clearly marked and secured against vandalism. Record any assets being moved in or out of the regional office, clearly indicating whether it is a permanent or temporary move. Manage OHS and Risk in the region. Assure that you are familiar with and understand the department policies that relate to your position. Assure that all employees in the area of work and those outside adhere to safety regulations. Report any safety-related questions in the workshop and beyond. Report all incidents and accidents, including injuries, immediately. Report thefts and losses immediately to the appropriate authorities within the department. Contribute to the budgeting process. Reports can be compiled and submitted as needed. Contribute to the technical operation plan by consolidating and providing inputs. Update databases. Manage artisans and other personnel.
