The Allergy and Immunology Unit, established in 2000, provides state-of-the art clinical and lab services for the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and immunological diseases. Its mission is to transform the lives of patients by combining innovative science and compassionate care.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Experience in Clinical Research on Multiple Projects
- Previous working experience with Pediatrics, or in a baby clinic
- Certification in Good Clinical Practice (advantageous).
- Strong interest in Research, especially in Allergy Immunity and Dermatology.
- Computer literacy (proficient in Microsoft Office, electronic Data Management Systems, email, and internet).
- Valid driver’s license (essential).
- Fluency in English, and a second (Afrikaans)
Responsibilities
- Management/Coordination of Study Participants
- Screening participants to include into studies based on specified inclusion criteria.
- Scheduling participants for follow-up (telephone or community visits).
- Executing all delegated procedures. vital signs, electrocardiography’s (ECG’s), collect laboratory and pharmacokinetic (PK) biological specimens
- Prepare laboratory specimens for shipping or transporting to laboratory
- Management of participant records: maintain, retrieve and file according to study visits. This includes results from laboratory tests and procedures.
- Maintain relevant study logs, such as AE tracking, confidential identification logs, screening, enrolment etc. This includes laboratory and procedure results
- Maintain applicable study logs (screening, enrolment, participant confidential identification log, AE tracking etc.)
Additional Information
- Fixed-term contract of 6-12 months
- 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday
