Purpose Of The Position

Take responsibility for the entire project, from conception to completion. This includes managing people, resources, and the scope of the project. This will include the development of new premises and maintenance of sites. It also includes liaising between landlords, clients, and Pepkor Properties for properties managed by them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimating the cost and Capex of proposed transactions to be presented to Property Board
  • The evaluation of quotes against the approved budget and the gathering of quotations by contractors and suppliers;
  • Nomination of contractors and suppliers
  • Communication flow management, such as signage plans and store plans. between clients and developers/landlords;
  • Assuring projects are completed on time, within budget and according to specifications.
  • Monitor and coordinate progress, and ensure payment to contractors.
  • Facilitating the maintenance of property by landlords
  • Measure the premises according to SAPOA and convert it into CAD drawings
  • Submission of plans and Occupational Certificates.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Math;
  • BSc in Construction Management or a related Diploma is an advantage.
  • A formal project management qualification is an advantage.
  • An advantage is having experience in the construction industry.
  • AutoCAD, Revit or CAD software experience or formal qualification is required.
  • You must be bilingual (English and Afrikaans), and have a good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel Word Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Well-organized; excellent analytical skills; strong numeracy; diplomatic; excellent communication skills. Able to work independently but also well in a team.
  • Experience in the field (preferably technical (especially electrical) and commercial experience will be an asset;
  • Experience in Property Management / Development is an advantage.
  • Understanding of construction terminology, scheduling and planning concepts is required.
