Overview of the Organization

The National Metrology Institute of South Africa is responsible for maintaining, sharing, and upholding National Measurement Standards in South Africa. Furthermore, they act as our main trading partner’s measurement equivalents authority while assuring correct usage of SI units within South Africa as well as authorising units not included within SI. NMISA forms part of DTI’s Family of TI Institutes as Quality Infrastructure in South Africa.

Purpose of Role

Receive training in the SCM and Logistics Section with clerical and administrative duties. This will ensure an efficient and effective service to all internal divisions.

Minimum Qualifications for NMISA Internship

• Three-year degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (PFMA etc.).
• Microsoft Office Software Package Compatible
• Quality, detail and analysis orientation
• Report writing and communication skills\

Duties and Responsibilities for Internship

• Fill out the SCM document and make copies.
• Plan and organize meetings
• Capture and update data in the system
• Upload the tender documents into the website
• Perform any other job assigned in Supply Chain Management
• Update and follow-up expired documents, such as Tax Clearance certificates, BBBEE forms and SBD Forms with suppliers
• Use the Help Desk function
• Follow-up on supplier’s invoices, statements, orders etc.
• Document Management and the proper filling out of SCM documents
• Coordinate payment of suppliers by registering, reprocessing and forwarding the invoices to Finance Officer.
• Verify the goods you receive and confirm their receipt
