Storeman Role

The warehouse manager is responsible for the administration and operation of the organization’s storage facility, including the processing, packaging and storage of supplies, equipment, and materials, as well as the delivery underground of equipment, materials, and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all the materials and supplies are accounted for in your store.
• Check the goods that are received in your warehouse.
• Receiving, storing, and issuing materials and reporting related activities must be performed in accordance to established procedures.
• Conduct full stocktakes and cycle counts
• Rock tool materials and equipment are to be analyzed, reissued and stock controlled in accordance with established standards.
• Assure the effectiveness of operational procedures, space usage, maintenance, and protection of equipment and facilities.
• Respect all aspects of Sandvik’s EHS policy, and follow any reasonable instructions, procedures or work systems that are provided in order to provide safe workplaces and eliminate environmental harm.

Profile Required

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
• Certificate in Supply Chain or Logistics (would be an asset)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position in a Warehousing/Distribution/Supply Chain/Mining environment
• Intermediate MS Excel Experience
• Ability to complete tasks in an underground environment efficiently and independently.
• Commitment to excellence in customer service and timely delivery
• Positive attitude and willingness for learning
• Focus on process and business improvement with a strong track record
• Ability to adapt to changes
• Problem solver and lateral thinker
• English proficiency
• Valid Driver’s License
